Full Members

Wayne Victor Meeten - Silversmithing and Jewellery
Wayne produces unique pieces, from large sculptural vessels to fine contemporary jewellery. Wayne specialises in shibori (the technique of hand-raising sculptural objects from a single flat sheet of metal) and mokume gane which is an extremely painstaking and difficult technique of fusing layers of metal together. His work is now in many collections and museums around the world. Nearly all his work is made to private commission or for galleries.

Janie Ramsay - Ceramics
Janie produces smoked fired ceramics which lend themselves to Turkish influences where she studied ceramics in Istanbul. She decorated her work with coloured slips and oxides to try and attain the dry surface effect. Working mostly on sculptural and decorative pieces she takes her inspiration from and is fascinated with natural and found objects in Devon.

Naomi Singer - Glass
Naomi has exhibited her glass pieces in galleries and shows throughout Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. Naomi specialises in warm glass techniques. The sea, coastline and plants around her home in Cornwall, and her parent’s house in Dorset heavily influence her work. Many of the images used in her pieces are of plants specially grown for her work. Naomi uses a mixture of modern and traditional techniques to create her final pieces. She uses digital macro photography to create the images and after manipulation the images are converted into digital water-slide decals. She then uses traditional fusing and slumping techniques to finish the pieces.

Associates:

Rosanna Martin - Ceramics
Rosanna produces small ceramic forms from porcelain that can be used as vases and vessels, or simply appreciated for the visual and tactile qualities they offer. She is hugely inspired by the making process and her physical responses to it, and the actions involved in the making of art. She explores ways to create work out of parts of the making process that normally go disregarded. Her most recent body of work explores the process of turning, making it into an integral part of the decorative quality of the piece.
